ShellExecute window size ignored

Hi all I am trying to view a PDF in a maximized window ShellExecute(lcCallingWindow, "Open", lcFileName, "", "", 3) The last parameter _should_ force the application window to be maximized but it doesn't :( The default application for PDFs on my system is Adobe Reader XI V11.0.09 and I am running Windows 7. Has anybody else had a similar issue? Thanks Paul Newton

MSXML.DomDocument

Hi all This may be considered by _some_ as NF, but here goes I have the following code: loXML = Createobject('MSXML2.DomDocument') loXML.loadXML(lcXML) lcolElements = loXML.GetElementsByTagName("Bank") For Each loElement In lcolElements ? loElement.Attributes.Item(0).Text Etc/usw Part of the XML looks like this <Bank id="1" name=" None" styleid="0" ></Bank> Note the leading space The code above returns "None" - without the leading space. I have tried replacing the leading space with   but it is still stripped off. I tried replacing the leading space with   and the XML fails to load at all. loXML.PreserveWhiteSpace = .T. seems to apply to all white space not just that between the quote marks and that messes things up completely. Any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated Paul Newton

Tech used: VFP9SP2 against MySQL (MariaDB) backend I created the new incarnation of FabMate a year ago with 16-byte character keys. Works fine, but I wanted to entertain the idea of using integer keys again instead (because I love the idea of 4 bytes instead of 16) and I did NOT want to use auto-increment keys in the tables because I wanted to have more control over them during data-entry, so basically, I can create all kinds of records and then at save time AND ONLY THEN do I want to store the actual data (and that's why AUTOINC keys wouldn't work). Oh...and they wouldn't work because I have several child-parent-grandparent relationships being created all during data-entry. So I'm thinking "how do I get something like VFP's old NextKey generation" akin to this: * this was pseudo-code, off the top of my head trying to remember my coding from 17+ years ago FUNCTION GetNextKey(tcTable as String) as Integer LOCAL llGotIt as Logical, liNewKey as Integer IF SEEK(tcTable,"MyKeysTable","TableName") THEN llGotIt = .F. DO WHILE NOT llGotIt IF RLOCK("MyKeysTable") THEN REPLACE NextVal with NextVal + 1 in MyKeysTable liNewKey = MyKeysTable.NextVal UNLOCK IN MyKeysTable llGotIt = .T. [NF] Social Media posting to multiple platforms

Hey - - - My daughter's "photography from a dog's point of view" social media presence is exploding (at least by our standards). In addition to the 2 London newspapers, now it has been picked up by local TV stations around the country. Suddenly, posting to Instagram isn't quite enough. We had been trying to figure out how best to use Twitter, G+, and especially Facebook, but now we need to clone Instagram content on the other platforms. Facebook is problematic, because the page to which we want to post is a page that we "own" rather than my main, personal page. I am actively researching this, but (as usual) you all have such amazing experience, I'd be thrilled if you would share your experience. No, really. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/visualstudio/2016/03/31/mobile-app-develop… I think the new management at Microsoft is making a pretty smart break from the past. Bill Gate's MS was "Information at your Fingertips" and "A PC on every desk" and that was mission accomplished, though thanks to the WWW and Mozilla as much as MS. Steve Balmer's Microsoft was... I don't know what. Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers? Open Source is a Cancer? The new MS is announcing MS for All! Built native Android apps on Windows! Build IOS apps on Windows! Host Linux on Azure! Lots! of! Exclamation! Points!!! I don't think they're getting out of the Windows PC or DotNet business, but it sure sounds like they are taking them for granted. Admittedly, Day Two of their big conference and they're grabbing all the headlines. The devil will be in the details, as always. This new version of .NET seems to have a lot of changes to 15 year old methodology with .NET.
