Used ReFox...CVW files?!??

On my way out the door now but wanted to start a thread on this. Used ReFox on Jeff's EXE and it seems to have worked for the most part (at least it extracted files and folders). I'll review them later today but noticed a bunch of files with a CVW extension. Binging it shows it to be a CaseView document type. Never heard of that one. Email using .NET

I currently use CDO to send email from my apps but I'm thinking of using a .NET component to do it. I have little experience with .NET and none using .NET Interop. I've got Visual Studio Express 14.0 and VFP 9.0 SP2 and would appreciate any pointers. [NF] VoIP Phone Systems and PSTN Signalling

Hi folks, If anyone here has worked with VoIP PBX systems (after all, I'm told, it's "just a computer"), can you answer this question? Is it an "industry standard" for these systems to fail to pass through basic signaling from the PSTN (public switched telephone network) to the ears of people using the phones? We recently purchased such a system and, while it transmit a "ringing" signal when we dial a number outside our system, it does not transmit "busy" signals when the line we dialed is engaged. It also does not transmit fax tones when we dial a fax number (useful for diagnosing faxing problems), nor does it transmit recorded audio from a phone company, such as "The number you have reached is no longer in service" (useful for what should be obvious reasons). The vendor claims that our expectations that a PBX phone system should do these things are unrealistic, and that if we want it fixed, we should pay for "support". My contention is that these failures are product defects that should be repaired under warranty. What is your experience on these things? Thank you very much. Ken Dibble www.stic-cil.org

problem with calculations with VFP9 and MSSQL Server

A few months ago I posted the following: quote I am selecting a bunch of invoices from a MS SQL Server table. I just want to add the total of all invoices. In the management studio I do this: Select sum(total) as total from terbo.dbo.invoices I get 212649.17 When I do the same calculation in VFP cCmd = ‘Select sum(total) as total from terbo.dbo.invoices’ sqlexec(thisform.nHandle,cCmd,’curTotals’) nTotal = curTotals.total nTotal is 212.65 How can I get the correct amount? unquote I would still know the answer to this problem, because the weird thing is that it only happens with the tables of just one database. That is, I have two similar databases, with similar tables. However, the vfp cursor obtained from this particular database table gives the above error where a similar table in another database does not. In both my Windows 10 and VFP9 SP2 the regional settings are a dot as a thousands separator, a comma as a decimal point and a semicolon as lists separator. These are the Spanish language settings for numbers The numerical fields in the tables are defined as numerical (18,2) not null with a default value of 0 A select statement such as this: cCmd = 'select invtotal from mydatabase.dbo.invoices where invid = '+transform(nPK) sqlexec(nHandle,cCmd,'curInvTotal') brings a cursor where a browse shows 12.256,85 (note the dot shown as a thousands separator. It should show as 12256,85) If I place the mouse over the invtotal column on the browse, the number shows as 12.25 I am really baffled and do not know what to do. ReFox to reverse compile a VFP9 EXE?

I'm trying to help one of Jeff Johnson's (RIP) customers and sadly, they don't seem to have the source code. (Good lesson to be learned here.) Can I use ReFox to somehow get the source code from the distributed EXE (assuming he didn't use ReFox to encrypt it)? Other suggestions? tia, --Mike

Which server for VFP9 app

Hi, We are currently running a VFP9 SP2 app on a windows 2003 server, which has been virtualised. We want to move to either 2008 server or preferably 2012 server. The app has a DBC and DBFs and has been running happily for over 10 years. The problem we have when transferring the data over to a virtualised 2008 or 2012 server is that we get index corruption once or more a day. We then have to move the data back. We have tried a few different configurations but do not know why this is happening. I just want to check what servers people are using for their networked VFP app and any problems (or not) they have had. Please let me know what version of windows you are using and what version of VFP and if the server is virtualised or not. Using Soap from non web server machine?

After never needing it for 20 years, I now need to develop and implement a SOAP solution which will send claim information out to a site, and return responses. I'm RTFM-ing now, but one thing that concerns me, is that if I understand this correctly, I need a web server to get responses back. Is this correct? We have a MS database server where the data, and this application would live. We have a separate web server, on a linux box, that can access the MS machine. If I write this, 1) can I send this request out from the DB Server, and get a response back? 2) Send something to the web server, have the server send and receive the request and send it back to the db server? 3) run a very limited web server which would only listen for the client's ip range, in order to send/get requests? I'm not looking for details, I just need an idea of the general direction I need to head. If I could do 1) that would be awesome, but if I'm understanding what I'm reading so far, I'll need to do 2 or 3. Would appreciate clues.
