[NF] X# August update

------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi all VFPers, Just announced (11 August 2019) on the X# website: Status Update August 11 Created: 11 August 2019 A quick status update to let you know that we are on schedule for our upcoming Bandol 2.0 release. All of the open issues have been resolved and we have also successfully recompiled ReportPro 2, ReportPro 3 and Vo2Ado (now called Xs2Ado) with the X# runtime. So those of you who depend on these libraries should expect no problems. When no show stoppers are found this week then we'll release this version by the end of this week (public). After that, for build 2.1, we will work on further Visual FoxPro compatibility, such as completing the FoxPro language support (class definitions, header file with the necessary commands) and FoxPro runtime support. Build 2.1 will also include the SDF and DELIM RDDs that are used to read and write text files. We also intend to add support for parameters by reference to functions and methods with CLIPPER calling convention. Stay tuned ! Using Chilkat Tools with VFP

All, I have a project in the prelim stages which will require automating a process to pull various files from API's using SOAP and then storing the results via ODBC to a SQL database. I'm looking at purchasing the Chilkat toolkit to help me with some of the XML and web connectivity that will be required. I know Tracy Pearson has posted positive comments about Chilkat and I reviewed prior messages posted here on the ProFox list and I'm feeling fairly confident it will provide what I need. However, I'd like some folks to provide their thoughts about the ease of implementation, distribution and maintenance of the library at the client level. I saw a couple of comments about unlock codes not working, etc and I just thought some additional information about the practical aspects of using Chilkat would be helpful. Thanks in advance! Paul H. Just curious: Normally YOU would create the filename, and then FCREATE() does its job. Why don't you know the filename you put into the function? [excessive quoting removed by server]

SFTP

Before I make a purchase of either Chilkat or West Wind Internet & Client Tools which are both around the same price. At this moment its simply to get a SFTP function but both of these come with lots of other stuff. Does anyone else pay for either of these and have any recommendations of one over the other? Get file path and name from file handle

Hi all How can I get a file path and name from a file handle (returned by FCREATE)? I am sure that there is a Windows API to do this but I cannot workout how to call it from VFP. Many thanks Paul Newton

you can use the psftp.exe to transfer items via a command line.
