Debug Window is HIDING From ME!

So - I noticed a strange problem had been happening to me recently. Although - at the time - I had a ton of stuff open and I had not rebooted my Work PC here for a LONG time. Well, I just rebooted it a couple of days ago - and, I am now having this strange problem again! The problem - the VFP Debug window - its like its "Hidden". I just went to the VFP menu, clicked on Debugger under Tools. But, the Debug window does NOT appear on the screen! However, if I click on the Fox icon at the bottom of my screen (and I have Two sessions of VFP currently open) - it display 3 small windows - 2 VFP sessions - and the 3rd small window is the Debug window. But, if I click on it - it does NOT go full size on my screen. I find this VERY Weird - and have NO Clue as to why it's happening. FYI - I'm running VFP 9 SP2 on Win7 Pro 64-bit. FRX getting trashed

Hi all I have noticed something rather worrying of late which I have _never_ come across before. It is not reproducible and I can't be at all sure what might be causing the problem. The problem manifests itself when attempting to edit or run a previously good report (valid FRT and FRX). VFP complains that the FRX is missing but lo and behold when I look in the reports folder I can see the FRT and a temp file with the same date/timestamp and a name similar to 0005UVIH02KM.TMP. If I rename this temp file to give it the same name as the FRT but with an FRX extension then everything is restored back to normal. This is really weird and I wondered if anybody else had ever seen anything similar Paul Newton

Excel class not registered

Hi all Whilst testing AssocQueryString I temporarily renamed EXCEL.EXE. When finished I restored the original name. However, now: CreateObject('Excel.Application') returns an OLE error code 0x80040154: Class not registered. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks Paul Newton

Default application for shellexecute

Hi all I want to find out in advance what application shellexecute will invoke for a given file type (e.g.TXT, XLS, DOC) etc. or indeed if there is no default application for the file type in question. Any ideas ? Many thanks Paul Newton

Problem with VFPEX.FLL when using Remote Desktop Connection

Hi all I am using RDC to log in to another PC on our network. In VFP I change directory to a folder containing VFPEX.FLL from Craig Boyd : Article https://www.sweetpotatosoftware.com/blog/index.php/2005/08/07/bindevent-on-… Download http://www.sweetpotatosoftware.com/files/vfpex.zip If I then SET LIBRARY TO VFPEX.FLL I get an error 1691 (Library file is invalid). Does anybody have any thoughts as to why this might be happening? Many thanks Paul Newton

VFP9SP2 report error with _pagetotal variable

In Report Writer, Data Grouping tab, I've selected Group starts on NEW PAGE NUMBER 1 (the last radio option). I must admit I've never used this option before; most of my reports are always the New Line or New Page option. I'm using this expression in my footer to produce what you see: "Page " + allt(str(_pageno)) + " of " + allt(str( _pagetotal)) Obviously the _pagetotal internal variable is not getting set correctly. Ideas on how to fix? tia! --Mike

Screen Running & Order of Objects Firing...

Hopefully that Subject line makes sense. I'm trying to find that in the Online VFP help - as I HAVE seen it there before - I just can't find it now. As in, 1st it's the Form Load, then the Load of the Objects on the Form, and then the Form Init - and so on. Can anyone point me to where I can find that in the online help? Thanks! VFP and fingerprint scanner

We have a client who has his employees clock in using a barcode that has their employee ID in it. They want to replace that with a fingerprint scanner. Can this be done?
