I have worked at home on VFP. It is horribly lonely. I have some on-line contact (like ProFox) that helps mitigate this. That means that working at home is "only" horribly lonely. [NF] I Was on the Radio Talking 3DP!

Hey there Folks, Just thought I would let you know about this. Sorry I didn't tell all of you EARLIER - and you COULD have heard me LIVE on the Radio last night - or even Streaming live via the station website - WBAI! This thing snuck up on me kinda quickly - although it was actually postponed from 2 weeks ago. The radio show host is an Ecologist/Environmentalist! Although - if you think about it - and this guy's Show - it does NOT Make sense to have people talking about 3D Printing. Twas the night before crisis, and all through the house, Not a program was working, not even a browse. The programmers were wrung out, too mindless to care, Knowing chances of shipping hadn't a prayer. The users were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of inquiries danced in their heads. When out in the lobby there arose such a clatter, That I sprang from my cube to see what was the matter. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a SUPER PROGRAMMER, oblivious to fear. More rapid than eagles, his programs they came, And he whistled and shouted and called them by name: On Update! On Add! On Inquiry! On Delete! On Batch Jobs! On Closing! On Functions Complete! His eyes were glazed over, his fingers were lean, >From weekends and nights in front of the screen. A wink of his eye, and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, Turning specs into code, then he turned with a jerk. And laying his finger on the ENTER key, The system came up, and worked perfectly. The updates, updated; the deletes, they deleted; The inquiries, inquired; and the closing completed. He tested each whistle, he tested each bell, With nary an abend, and all had gone well. The system was finished, the tests were concluded, The client's last changes were even included! Hi all When I build the executable (Win32 executable/COM server (exe) VFP automatically registers it but if I take the EXE to another machine and try to register it with regsvr32 I get the following message: The module "helpwindow.exe" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "helpwindow.exe" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks Paul Newton

What would you do?

A client may be forced to convert his legacy foxpro software to something commercial and currently commercially supported by the manufacturer. My client would prefer to keep it as is, but the decision may be out of his hands. Open source is probably out too. There is no software currently on the market that will do what he does the way he does it. What would you do? The system is relatively simple, has to support 100 simultaneous users, has to be at least as secure as Foxpro, and run from a internal server. Id love something that works like Foxpro, I.E. a DBMS package with a powerful programming language, and is easy to learn. [NF] Chat tool for businesses (but not Skype or Facebook Messenger)

Client likes FB messenger but does not want to friend coworkers. They do not like Skype for some reason (need to research that more, but they were clear). What kinds of other tools do you recommend for instant messaging within businesses? tia, --Mike

I recommend to download+install Mysql Work Bench. Free and it come with great tools and query writers..
