Hey! Looking for recommendations on a desktop heater for my home office. Ideally one that's small and quiet with a steady warmth vs the one I have right now which sounds like a jet taking off with an equivalent blast of heat. I'm not looking to heat my entire office, just the vicinity of my upper body in front of my monitors.
My current mode of operation: freezing > barbecued > freezing > repeat.
Spent some time looking at Amazon and surprised there aren't better options in 2021. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XT17GJP/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HV76XJH/

:)
That's what I'm using most of the time as well. But not great when I'm on the phone presenting or selling.

This is what I use. My original choice would have been the standard small blower version, but my wife snatched that one.
That being said, I have to say this does a really good job, and the ECO mode is great. The only drawback is that it takes about 5 minutes to start heating things, so you don't get that gratifying blast of immediate warm air. On Max setting it will get too hot.
This is not an endorsement of the brand, as I've had mixed success with them in the past. This is just all our hardware store sells, and it's been working great so far. (2nd year)

We bought a couple of these last fall and they've been great this winter. One really nice feature is that you can set a temperature 'cut off' and it will cycle the heat/fan on and off to maintain that temp, so it's essentially a built-in thermostat. The remote is a nice touch and does work well, but probably not needed in a desktop environment. The oscillating is a really useful feature so that it heats the area around you, not blasting directly on your legs.

Maybe look on eBay for one of those old Pentium computers? They were pretty toasty.

List: Thanks for the great advice and ... as my kids would say ... "dad humor" :)

Thanks Michael! That vendor has the small space, quiet radiant heater I've been looking for. Plus a bunch of office "equipment" I didn't know I needed until I saw it. </lamest-office-ever>
