All of the sudden, when I go into VFP and choose something off the main menu, the dropdown area appears but it's all blank. As I scroll down over where the item choices would be, they appear as I scan over them.
Same Windows version. Not sure if a recent Windows Update caused it? Very weird.
Has anyone seen this?

I've seen it with a Version of TeamViewer 9 installed. I reported it to them and they, very promptly gave me a fix. Don't recall seeing that behaviour otherwise.

I have TV 10 but don't see this - try updating your graphics drivers.
I have V 10 as well and it is fine. The behaviour was in V 9.

I've got 10.0.47484, Date Sep 11 2015 17:23:00.
This is so bizarre because it's only with the main menus (not shortcut menus) and only happens with the mouse--using the keyboard, the menu displays fine.
And no Ted, I honestly don't recall changing anything, other than applying Windows updates I guess and updates to Adobe. No customers are complaining; it's just my dev machine and all of the sudden. Started maybe a week ago.

And you haven't done anything to the machine since it was well-behaved? Any updates? Newly installed hardware or software? Anything funny in the logs? Have you turned it off and back on again?

Mike,
I remember the old Vista problems with menus. http://leafe.com/archives/full_thread/398569
I don't recall ever hearing the menu text not displaying. Are you using different font or colors?

Hey...interesting...it's not just in VFP!! When I opened an image file in an editing program....same blank-until-you-scroll-over-choices behavior.
Corrupted font file?

I don't think you'd mentioned the blank-until-you-scroll-over-choices behavior before. I was betting on a missing font, or a corrupted font cache, but if it appears after scrolling, that's less likely.
Open a cmd window as admin (don't know how others do this, but I usually use the search for programs option, type in 'cmd' and then right-mouse-click and "Run As Administrator") and type:
sfc /scannow
This checks system files for corruption, and may give you a clue.

Unfortunately (?), it found no issues: -------------------------------------------- Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
C:\Windows\system32> --------------------------------------------
Microsoft Windows Update has been bugging me forever about upgrading to Win10. Maybe this is another DR-DOS kind of tinkering by M$ to get me to upgrade. lol (no, I wasn't serious about that)

Well, then, it's [NF] and that's good to know. Google around for "Windows 7 menu blank" and you're likely to come up with some solutions. I'd suspect you need to rebuild the font cache or reinstall the graphics adaptor or something. Or perhaps you'll recall the change you made that caused this.
I missed the bit about other apps so it's obviously not SYS(602).

Could the Bitmap Configuration setting have changed? (SYS(602)).

*POKE* Michael, any progress, resolution or clues on this? It's unusual for posts here to be unresolved after 11 days.
