My days are filled with T-SQL coding now, so I wanted to create a shortcut key sequence to insert the [dbo] in front of things when needed. This doesn't work: ON KEY LABEL KEYBOARD "[dbo]."
Ideas? tia.
Record a macro. :-)

Well, now you're changing scope on me, Mike. :-)
If your team is using VFP, macro files can easily be saved and restored, as can FKY files. Of course, Alan makes a better point...

Great idea...but that only fixes my current setup. I want to have this ability in our dev tool too so other developers can just check a box and have that ability as well.
You're not including the key you need to press to make it happen, e.g.:
On Key Label SHIFT+F1 keyboard "[dbo]."

DOH! Yes, of course. That's exactly it. Anything to type less and keep carpel tunnel from getting me sooner.
ON KEY LABEL CTRL+D keyboard "[dbo]."
I would avoid using standard VFP hot keys. VFP uses CTRL-D for DO program...

You can just place a single period there instead if you want on TSQL.
[SERVER\INSTANCE].dbName.dbo.TradingPartners is also found:
[SERVER\INSTANCE].dbName..TradingPartners
Do you have other schemas?

We've got a slick framework whereby we don't hardcode much so it's portable for other projects/databases.
