I've been asked to help document business logic in an old (even for Visual Foxpro) app. It appears that it was built using Codemine and VFP5. I've worked with Foxpro on and off almost all my life, but with the exception of an old VFP6 that I do very little ongoing maintenance on, my Foxpro is getting pretty rusty! I think they have all the source files, including Codemine, but it seems to be looking for classes and other files that shipped with VFP5, and it doesn't see the Codemine files.
I plan to either try to locate a full copy of VFP5 or try to get it to work with my existing copy of VFP9, then try to add the places it may need to look for things into the path. Am I missing anything? Is it worth tracking down a copy of VFP5 or do you guys think it will find the updated components in a VFP9 install? Many thanks in advance for any tips!
My OPINION is that it will probably be quicker to try and run it under 9, and do run/crash/fix/repeat until it runs cleanly. My 2 cents.

Vincent I agree that running under 9 is probably a better idea after poking around a little more. I found an xsource.zip on one of my other machines that I worked with foxpro on before and set path to the builders folders after unzipping and got much further. I think maybe after more research it may have been worked with using Visual Foxpro 8.

Since you only need to DOCUMENT, not to recompile that stuff, you just need a running VFP9 and then the PDM documenting engine. (http://gorila.netlab.cz/pdm.html). Editing the VFP5 sourcecode is working from within VFP9.
