Most of our clients use the Remote Desktop App RDP in Windows, but clients have experienced the session screen turning black after some time. We found a Columbus Remote Desktop that seems to work fine, but it doesn't map local drives. Any Remote Desktop apps ProFoxers can recommend?

I really really like ScreenConnect.com https://www.screenconnect.com/Remote-Support
Not free, but solid, very well supported, and multi-platform.
I frequently do tech support on Windows clients from either my Android Samsung 5S phone or Samsung tablet.

I've been very happy with Teamview 10 over the last few years. Found it to be easy to use and rock solid, with all the features I'd expect.

Hi,
For providing support, I use Teamviewer.
For remote users to access my server, I use http://www.tsplus.net/. It maps local drives and prints on local printers as well. Needless to say, but the internet bandwidth on both sides will determine the user experience.

+1 for TSPlus if only for the competitive pricing!

Pricing is only competitive if you don't have to worry about compliance with the Windows EULA. Otherwise it's getting expensive pretty quickly as you still need to license the client and obtain remote access CALs. Which means that you might be vulnerable to liability issues if you sell that solution to a client without CALs.
The EULA of Windows Server requires TS CALs even for third party software. Desktop Windows systems can only be accessed by a single person at a time with the exception of remote assistance and - in most versions of Windows - must have a main user that directly interacts with the system.
Don't get confused between thin client approaches like RDP and remote control approaches like TeamViewer. They are not the same.
For remote control I use Splashtop Business (splashtop.com) and for one off support they have an add on Splashtop SOS which allows you to remote connect to a user for a one off session with minimal setup by the remote end and you can connect via iPad's, Androids and also iPhones... yes I do the iphone connect back to my office on an iPhone 6s with my two screens with no problem at all. Just as good as Teamviewer but cheaper.
On the SDP end I use Microsoft's own software on PC and Microsoft's equivalent on iPad via a VPN back to the office which is very stable indeed.
Alan's point about remote access RDP and remote control (above) are very valid as they are completely different beasts.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. We're actually looking for the RDP solution for our clients to run our application in a Terminal Services Session on the cloud server. We use Simple Help www.simple-help.com and LogMeIn to connect to them for remote support. The Users properties on the server are configured to automatically start our VFP application session upon login. So from what I can see, TSplus could be a solution. Reading TSplus's Benefits overview they claim that there is No requirement for Terminal Service CALs. No need for Terminal Service (Remote Desktop Services) license manager. However one of the posts indicates that M$ still requires CALs.

So, to simplify, you want to run multiple copies of Windows but you don't want to pay Microsoft for the license to do that?
I'm not sure you can do that.
The TSplus software is based in Czechoslovakia and written by programmers in Russia and Paris. It's possible this is a difference in legal jurisdictions, or something lost in translation, or flat-out piracy, but I don't think this will fly in the U.S.

No, we've purchased the required CALs. We questioned not having to buy CALS since it didn't seem right. Just looking for an alternate solution to Microsoft's Remote Desktop App since there seems to be an issue with turning the session screen black on some machines, which requires the client to exit the session and log back in.

well location and translation do seem to affect things ms. For several years 'unpaidfor' copies of VFP were available in the Czech Republic, with ms very openly turning Nelson's eye. So the habit may have stuck. It could also be that the EU have a different view on software licences.

This is from the License Agreement of TSplus:
For Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications, you should consult the license agreement accompanying the applicable software or contact the applicable licensor to determine whether use of the software with Remote Desktop or Remote Assistance is permitted without an additional license.
So they give you their opinion on their web site, but in the legal papers they make you responsible for checking their claims with Microsoft. When you do, you find this in the Windows 2012 R2 EULA
CAL for each user or device that (...) accesses the server software to host a graphical user interface (using (...) other technology).
or this in the Windows 10 EULA
you may not: (...) make the software available for simultaneous use by multiple users over a network
but clients have experienced the session screen turning black after some time.
Maybe any of these help?
