Wow - this IS Very Sad news. I was in touch with Jeff offlist over the past number of years for a couple things - including a potential project I was working on in regards to one of the businesses he worked with.
A sad way to begin the week for me. Including seeing half my office leaving at the same time I am coming in - due to a co-worker who died last week and was found floating in a river in NJ.
I will truly miss the interactions of Jeff on this list!

I found out on Facebook this morning. Very sad indeed. We had a good messenger chat a few weeks ago and he was relating how tired he was recently. He had been chatting to John Koziol who is also very ill but slowly fighting his way forward and they were both in fine spirits supporting each other.
My thoughts go out to those he has left behind and I am sure they are echoed by all the Profoxers in the UK and elsewhere. I have passed our best wishes on to his family from you all.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Fred. I feared the worst when I didn't hear back from Jeff. He reached out to me earlier this month and was supposed to send me some stuff and when I didn't hear back, I feared the worst.
He was a wonderful colleague. I met him (and you) back in 2002 at WhilFest in Milwaukee, WI. Met his daughter too. Wonderful people.
His battle with cancer is over. One day, we'll defeat that terrible disease. Hoping his family can draw on the wonderful life he had to help them through this time of grief.
Rest in peace, my friend.

Jeff was supposed to come to the Fox Forward conference but couldn't make it at the last minute. He was really bummed that he missed it.
I'm going to miss him on the ProFox list.

Yes, he will.
I only knew him tangentially until a decade or so ago when he started the Southwest Fox conference. I agreed to speak at it, and he put together a truly wonderful conference. Hanging out with him afterwards is where I first got to know him well. He was a true mensch.
