I am not a TypeScript fan too. As of now, JSDOCS can solve the issues that Typescript is trying to solve for the developer - without the additional overhead. In the future, AI assisted IDE's, should inform the developer of an undeclared variable, invalid parameters etc etc.

I used JSDOC back when I had a Servoy project out there IIRC.
Microsoft are or already have rewritten the Typescript transpiler in Go which apparently gives it a 10x speed boost. And caused consternation among some that they didn't use C#, despite Go being apparently the best tool for the job.
Anything is better than vanilla JavaScript IMO
