Hi
In my setup I have PSPad.EXE and PSPad (Admin).EXE. The latter is simply a copy of the former but with "Run as administrator" set in its properties. If I right-click on, for example, Config.FPW, I already have PSPad as an option but I can also "choose another program" and select PSPad (Admin).EXE and "Just once". The next time I right-click on Config.FPW there are two choices for "PSPad". One opens PSPad.EXE and the other opens PSPad (Admin).EXE which is great except for the fact that both are simply labelled "PSPad".
Any ideas how I can get PSPad (Admin) to show as the second choice? Where does Windows store these "Open with" choices? Are they in a folder somewhere or in the registry?
Many thanks
Paul Newton
I'd try copying the EXE to pspadadmin.exe and set a shortcut to that accordingly
Thank for the suggestion, Alan
I've tried that and several other combinations of EXE name, shortcut name etc and whatever I do it just still shows as "PSPad"

As a result of various attempts I am now ending up with several duplicate entries on the right-click menu - any ideas where these are stored so that I can clean things up?
Thanks

Hi Frank
Thanks for that reference. My problem is that I can get the context menu to run PSPad normally or as administrator, it's just that both programs (PSPad.EXE and PSPadAdmin.EXE) appear in the context menu as "PSPad" with no way of distinguishing between them. By the way, I believe that the open with choices are stored in the registry at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts.FPW\OpenWithList
Where .FPW can be any other file extension.

Hi all
The solution turned out to be
In HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache
change the data for
C:\Program Files\PSPad editor\PSPadAdmin.exe.FriendlyAppName
from PSPad to PSPad (Admin)
