Hi foxgang Was looking to solve an issue of VFPEncryption71.fll being invalid. Most google results point to sweetpotato, obviously, but the web pages have gone. I see sweetpotato website is still there but does anyone know if the various useful tools have gone? Also anyone know a cure for it being invalid. It is on a web service and has the 2 c++ dll's in the same directory. I am assuming security but I put the directories as read/write to everyone and still no go. Is there another file other than the c++ dll's? TIA Al
Never mind the invalid bit. For some reason it has decided to work after I put the 2 dll's in system32. Al

Makes you wonder what's up with Craig's site though.
Seems like Craig's site has been problematic more often than not over the past year.
I found the notes for the corrections on The Wayback Machine (www.archive.org) at https://web.archive.org/web/20160331100148/http://www.sweetpotatosoftware.co m/spsblog/2008/12/08/VFPCompressionUpdateACoupleOfFixesAndASlightEnhancement .aspx. The download itself is at http://www.sweetpotatosoftware.com/files/vfpcompression.zip.

Aha! Looks like Craig restructured his web site without putting in 301 redirects. The new link for the VFPCompressions Update post is http://www.sweetpotatosoftware.com/blog/index.php/2008/12/08/vfpcompression- update-a-couple-of-fixes-and-a-slight-enhancement/.

Thanks for the various replies. His site has gone for a makeover. There seems no mention on the home page about blogs now. For a minute I thought he had kicked them. And as all the searches for the issue I had pointed to his site it was a bit of a problem. In case anyone has the same problem, I will repeat the cure I have a web service which is a C# service calling a VFP dll. The dll uses the vfpencryption71 fll and the problem was it being invalid. Upto now I believed that to overcome this, the 2 vc++ dll's should be in the same directory. However in this case putting them in the system32 directory was the right choice. Odd as with an exe it seems that didn't work and the only was putting them in with the exe. Anyway there is my answer in case anyone is using vfpencryption71.fll from a vfp dll on a web service. Al
