Task: Create PDFs via scheduled job calls of my Fox EXE for creating "reports at certain times of day" for historical review for various users to view for their own data.
I know XFRX creates PDFs easily (along with other outputs like Excel) but I already have the QuickPDF tool in my arsenal from FoxItSofware.com (formerly DebEnu.com) and FoxIt's software has a LOT of features for password-protecting PDFs among others.
Has anyone implemented FoxIt's tools in their apps for creating PDFs?

One thing I'd say about XFRX is that it isn't as fast as solutions that create PDFs via a Windows printer driver.
I don't think speed is a big deal for this task...having it complete the PDF in 5 seconds is not going to be a deal killer. Imagine the clock striking X o'clock firing off the PDF reports that are supposed to be generated at that hour. Not a big deal if they complete at X:01, or even X:04 for that matter. (Now X:06 is out of the question. lol)
I had initially thought this would be a cool dashboard app but the client wants their management and remote users to receive these reports either in their email or available historically via the My Reports link.
I recently did a Document Management System (DMS) for them that works GREAT using DebEnu's QuickPDF tool to parse existing PDFs on demand and generate new files from them so they can pick and choose what to email recipients (customers). I was going to use a similar approach as I did for the FileLinks table, which provides the document mapping: https://www.screencast.com/t/MFDmOhkFU

If this were your task (/Task: Create PDFs via scheduled job calls of my Fox EXE for creating "reports at certain times of day" for historical review for various users to view for their own data/), how would you implement it? Remember this is a seamless process running on the Server, creating the various reports for various individual users, and to access them, they go to their "My Reports" link on either the website (this is a WWWC app) or the equivalent in their desktop application.

I am doing this on a normal PC via Nodejs. Client request hits Nodejs -> which calls a VFP COM server which prepares the PDF via XFRX (but you can use your favorite tool to generate the pdf) in a specific directory -> Nodejs picks this pdf and sends it back to the client.

Thanks for the info, Ajit!
Looks like I'll use XFRX to generate the PDFs. Since I already owned QuickPDF, I was hoping to use it for creation without recreating the wheel.

Ajit,
I'm interested in learning NodeJS. Would you mind posting a small bit of sample code of how you do this? Thank you!
I would consider creating a Windows service to do that, or maybe a scheduled job in Task Scheduler. I'd probably use C# :0)

Yes, my plan is to use Task Scheduler to call my VFP EXE. I've got a few scheduled tasks running Fox apps. Works great!
