Clients don't know the difference, only that my software doesn't work.
Microsoft giveth and Microsoft taketh away again. *sigh* Not the first time,...
I suppose I can work up a feature to duplicate all the functionality by exporting all the data to SpreadsheetML when requested, but I wondered if anyone had run into this and knew of a workaround.
BTW, this is a non-MS application, so using a Web Component or similar unholy solution is pretty much out of scope.
Whoops! My mouse cut half the message as I hit Send:
Not Fox, though Fox makes perfectly good HTML so it could have been:
A client uses a web application of mine to run a set of HTML reports.
Right-clicking on the resulting table gives her an "Export to Excel" option that pops the table up in Excel. It has "stopped working" so she calls me up and complains,
It turns out the Export functionality was an IE feature, which apparently MS chose not to duplicate in Edge, the new replacement browser with the big blue E for an icon. Clients don't know the difference, only that my software doesn't work.

I don't mean to sound stupid, although I'm sure the moniker fits at times, but what does a Foxpro "non-MS application" look like?
IOS? Android? Linux? Unix? CP/M? OS/2?

Correction: OS/2 should not have been on my list of "non-MS" operating systems. :)

CP/M? How old are you? Woah! I haven't pip'ed in 30 years!
Not AmigaDOS nor C=64 GEOs, either, my favorites.
I'm sorry I muddled the issues with double-negatives. It's a LAMP app, not that it matters, but clients are running Windows and their browsers behave poorly, especially if made by MS.
I CP/M on my Osborne I, thank you very much! :)
I started young hit my first TRS-80 Model 1 when I was eleven.
FYI, I own a C-64, TI-99, Sinclair 1000, Osborne I, IBM PC and a COSMAC Trainer. I was the kid with his nose pressed against the Radio Shack window instead of the pet store. :)

my $0.02 (can't test this in specific case, but do show IE in W10 to my clients):
IE 11 exists in W10, accessible in 2 ways: 1) from Edge, when a page doesn't work correctly, near upper right corner the is a 3 dot drop-down menu where one of the options is "open in Internet Explorer"
or 2) add Internet Explorer shortcut on desktop, taskbar, and/or start menu : with windows explorer go to "c:\program files\Internet explorer" and therein right click on iexplore.exe and pick whichever shortcut you want

Thank you! I shared that trick with the client.

OOoo! I missed the S-100 & compatibles. I went from mini-computers to Commodore VIC-20, C=64 and then had to downgrade to a "PC" to get a job...
As you have obviously found out, IE is still available with Windows 10 but takes some finding!
You can still make it your default browser though.

Thanks, Dave. *I* certainly can make it my default browser, although I certainly won't! But the client, a Fortune 500, may have a different take on things, and might actually have some IT policies I'll have to wrestle with.
This might be a good short-term solution until I develop an export-to-CSV or -Spreadsheet-ML solution and roll it out. I don't want to restrict the clients to a single-browser solution if I can avoid it.

An alternative is to pull the data from within Excel, so you don't have to create an export. I have Office 2016 and I go to New Query - From Other Sources - From Web Enter a URL, I used http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table as an example. Excel recognises there's an HTML table, just select that, and it pulls it in. After that, you can just refresh from Excel without having to go to the browser.

I'll have to check this out! The company data is behind a login page, so it will be interesting to see how to handle that.
