The problem is we need to avoid telling them how great VFP really is because it scares them. They've never written anything as stable, flexible and fast as the Fox. We need to somehow convince them VFP is not a real programming language and that it isn't a Studio, SQL or .NET killer. And we are just a niche group of nerds who are faithfully committed to the VFP cult and we would appreciate some Microsoft love.

PS: Telling them it will help their bottom line instead of ours or our clients should also somehow factor into the strategy, I think. I mean if we are going to lie anyway, lie big!

I'll never forget the very important demo I attended where a programmer was slinging code right up to the last moment to get it working. Midway through the demo projected up on the screen, a huge message box with the error message "Variable 'shit' not found." appeared on the screen. The client was not impressed.
Lesson learned.
