I remember it well.
Orlando 1993 was my first DevCon, having been promised by my employer to send me to the last two. I got laid off before this one and went myself. Shared a room at the Dolphin with Arnold Bilansky, organizer of the Boston Fox user group of the Boston Computer Society and fellow contributor to the BCNN newsletter[1]. Met so many people I had only known online on Compu$erve. met my future Blackstone employer, Peter Moon, made connections with a few people I'd write books with, and attended IguanaFest! [3] There are pictures! [2]

I never did go to a DevCon.
But, I DID go to the Fox Conf. in 1989 where FoxPro for DOS was first introduced. Still to this day I completely remember the excitement from the crowd when Dr. Fulton did the "Modi Comm *.prg" command and about 100 programs started opening up on the screen - one after another. He got a Total Standing Ovation! It was COOL Stuff back in those early days!!!
