What are the steps to read on a PC a 3.5 Floppy written on a Boxed Mac about 1985-1988?
Thank you.

I'm assuming you don't have a circa 1985 Mac in working condition. That would be the ideal way.
The chances of reading data off a 30-year-old floppy is pretty low. Media deteriorate, magnetic fields fade.
Supposedly, Linux can read them:

Thank you, Ted.

Got a floppy drive on a Windows computer? This might be worth a try:

You will probably be able to read it on a modern Mac, if you can hook up a standalone floppy drive. Imation made a standalone floppy drive, model D353FUE, which has a USB connector so it will fit modern Macs.

It appears to depend on whether the Mac disk is HD (1.44MB) or DD (400KB/800KB).
If it's HD then there are various solutions like http://www.macdisk.com/mden.php which would probably all require a PC-compatible USB floppy drive.
If it's DD then you need a Mac for all intents and purposes, for reasons explained on the link above.
Thank you, Alan.

Assuming you have a Windows computer with a floppy drive, you might try MacOpener (which has been discontinued by DataViz but is still available on various download sites) or MacDrive (http://www.mediafour.com/software/macdrive/). Look for free or trial versions that might be able to tell you if the diskette is at all readable before you spend money on either program.
Mike
