I think what astounds so many people is that it is now apparent that politics trumps all. It trumps morality, religion, ethics or any other standards you would otherwise normally apply. That is why the now-discredited Religious Right supported a candidate that stood for none of their beliefs or religion - politics. It is why the Republicans originally distanced themselves from Trump. Some thought it was a minute twinge of conscience, but now we see they all flooded back when victory looked possible. It was all politics. It seemed that there were far fewer people than expected who were willing to 'judge someone on the content of their character' rather than on the colour of their politics.
And this current global dissatisfaction with how countries are being run is an indictment on our greed and our single-minded ignorance of history. Trump - and others like him - are being elected to 'make things great again'. Except we currently have the highest standard of living in history. We have the highest wages, the best education and the beast healthcare ever. Education is better than ever. We have less war than ever. (Yes the middle east has had war for the last 100 years). Terrorism might be frustrating, but it is hardly new. And in the case of America, you still have the most powerful military, the biggest economy and the most potent innovation. So what is so 'not great' about that?
Trump is a man of poor moral character, poor judgment, appalling behaviour and after 4 bankruptcies let's hope he doesn't preside over yet another. But at least he has no experience of public office. And he is a conspiracy theorist to boot.
And you wonder why everyone with an IQ above 100 (ie those who didn't vote for him) are concerned.

Your logic is so flawed that I'm not even sure what you are trying to say.

Now we will be able to ascertain some things. If he manages to end his four years without getting into a really stupid war, and without pressing the atomic button, and without making a fool of his country, and without bankrupting USA, then we will know that the president is just a figurehead and that it's the corporations that really rule the USA. OTOH.... well, it's been a good life so far, only comfort is that those responsible will go down first.

Enough of the people who were sick and tired of the same old shit from our leaders stood up and said UP YOURS.
Now can he lead a country better than he campaigned? Has the secret service terminated his twitter account yet?
