What kind of security measures does Sophos Home utilize?
Sophos Home protects with both signature-less/behavioral-based (zero day) and signature based detection, including on-demand malware scan, on-access malware scan, malicious URL blocking, phishing protection, web filtering, and potentially unwanted app detection. Can I use Sophos Home with my other security or antivirus software?
To make sure Sophos Home works correctly, you should remove any other AV software before installing Sophos Home. If you need help uninstalling your existing AV software, it's best to check the manufacturer's website for the most up to date instructions for your particular product. The exception to this is Surfright products, such as the Hitman.Pro line. How many computers can I add to my Sophos Home account?
You can protect up to 10 computers per Sophos Home account. If you have reached the limit and want to add another computer, you must first remove an existing computer from the Dashboard. See Removing the Device[1] for more info. I have a small business with just a few computers, can I install Sophos Home on those computers? No, Sophos Home is provided free for private, personal and non- commercial use only. How do I invite other members of my family to add their computers to my Sophos Home account? 1. Log into your Sophos Home account at https://home.sophos.com%5B4] 2. Click + Add Device in the side panel 3. Click the URL link and copy to the clipboard 4. Prepare an email or instant message and paste the link you copied earlier into the body of the email and send to your family members I got a message from a family member that says I should install Sophos Home from a link, what do I do now? 1. Open the link from the message in a browser. The link should begin “https://home.sophos.com/install/...%E2%80%9D 2. Click the green Download button, this will start the download of Sophos Home to your computer. 3. You will see a Sophos shield icon appear in the notification area in the Windows toolbar or in the top menu bar on Mac. Open the Sophos Home main window on the computer and if you see a green tick, your computer is secure and all is well. The computer name will also show up in the Sophos Home Dashboard together with its security status. How do I uninstall Sophos Home from Windows?
The Sophos Home software for Windows is made up of three separate components and you need to uninstall all three. Here's how:
1. On your computer, click Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program 2. Double-click *Sophos Antivirus* to uninstall 3. Confirm you want to make changes to your computer 4. The Sophos Home Endpoint Software for the Windows operating system uses the Chromium Embedded Framework[5] which contains source code from "Webkit" licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License. Therefore, users may replace libcef.dll (built from open source code[6]) and found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\Sophos UI\ with a replacement API compatible library in order to reproduce the Sophos Home Endpoint Software executable for the Windows operating system using this replacement library.
