I was almost thinking this should be marked as OT or NF - since its Not Technical - and its Not about VFP coding...
So - a couple of months ago, as you know - I was looking for a book here at my office regarding Office Automation. Since, in our office - there were a number of bookcases with lots of books on them. And, since ALL the original systems were written in FoxPro - it so happens that they had a LOT of FoxPro books. Now - I didn't find the specific Automation book I was looking for.
However, when I did find - was a small book called FoxTales: Behind the Scenes at Fox Software. And, in the past I have read some true stories about technology - like "Mind of a New Machine" and "iWoz". So - I figured this would be interesting. And, indeed - Kerry Nietz is doing a great job in telling of the story. Am at the point in the book where the product was renamed from FireFox to FoxPro - and Kerry is relaying his work in creating the Report Writer (originally based upon a 3rd party program - which they then integrated into FoxPro for DOS).
I'm finding the book quite entertaining - and figured others in this forum might also find it interesting!
