Even if Microsoft has stopped evolutions, VFP keeps growing with third-party products that brings great additional value to VFP apps: VFPx, west-wind web connect, VFP steam, FoxInCloud and many others. These products bring more value than Microsoft could probably have brought.
BTW, FoxInCloud is a container around a VFP app, interfacing it with the Web. Code adaptations deal with, among others:
- mapping VFP to HTML event models

- replacing synchronous modality by asynchronous call-back
(http://foxincloud.com/tutotest/Modal.tuto)
- reporting (http://foxincloud.com/tutotest/report.tuto)
- paging large datasets (http://foxincloud.com/tutotest/pagedGrid.tuto)

VFP is dead. Forget about it. Learn a new too and move on.
Yeah, except many people have very, very large and perfectly working systems written in VFP (or COBOL or whatever else) where even if the customer base would fund a wholesale rewrite, it wouldn't happen in a 5 or 10 year period. Therefore containerisation and similar approaches like Centennial are an excellent solution.
