The jury is still out, for me, but I agree with your understanding and so far SSDs have been more reliable.

Well I always heard that the SCSI drives lasted the longest (as opposed to the IDE drives)! They say these SSD drives are super fast (yes!) but they don't have the longevity like your SCSI either though...supposedly.
