Neither of those things exist though, despite a lot of hype around at the minute.
Uber's been testing self-driving cars around Pittsburgh for a while now, and there haven't been reports of kids or dogs or other cars getting hit. It's still a test, and there's still someone in the front seat, but seeing one of those cars is no longer a novelty. (Other tests are going on in other cities.)
