I too use OzCIS back in the early to mid-90s. Then that new intertubes thingie became a little more open.

I remember using some freeware/shareware tool (OzCIS?) that would initiate the dialup, download new or updated threads, and then disconnect. You could then go through the content and write replies, etc offline. Back in the era of 2400 baud dialup connections...
