This is what I wish the Lianja guys would do. They have a proven engine there (Recital as was) which is 64-bit, proven, cross-platform, database-agnostic and supports most of the non-legacy Visual FoxPro syntax that isn't concerned with UI, and then adds a lot of new commands into the bargain. However it's tied into their IDE and application framework and licencing model.
