This might be a good short-term solution until I develop an export-to-CSV or -Spreadsheet-ML solution and roll it out. I don't want to restrict the clients to a single-browser solution if I can avoid it.
An alternative is to pull the data from within Excel, so you don't have to create an export. I have Office 2016 and I go to New Query - From Other Sources - From Web Enter a URL, I used http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table as an example. Excel recognises there's an HTML table, just select that, and it pulls it in. After that, you can just refresh from Excel without having to go to the browser.
