I've used Hamachi for over 100 computers for around 5 years now. It has it's pluses and minuses...mostly pluses.
I've also been prompted to look around for another solution and found nothing as straightforward to install and use. And by "look around" I mean I went as far as having the tech support for the alternative product connect remotely and configure their product so it worked.
I also subscribe to Logmein Central, which means Hamachi is included free in the annual subscription, so if I stopped using Hamachi, it wouldn't save me anything (and if I use anything else it will be a direct expense.)
The biggest minus for Hamachi is that it is considered to be "free" from Logmein and therefor your tech support is of the same value ($0.00). I've become intimately familiar with Hamachi tech support because of an ongoing problem with Hamachi and Windows 10 Pro. It's taken nearly 4 months to escalate the problem to the developer level and they're now "working on it" but I'm not supposed to hold my breath.
In a nutshell, I have all the systems at this one client reboot every night at 11:30pm. The Windows XP systems reconnect via Hamachi no problem, ever. The Windows 7 Pro systems reconnect via Hamachi about 99.999999% of the time. The Windows 10 Pro systems reconnect via Hamachi about 85% of the time. The problem with the 85% of the time is that I never know which of the 80 systems running Win10 will fail to connect, and if a system fails to connect the end user will discover it the next morning and complain. So every night, starting around midnight, I connect to each of the Hamachi-using systems and check the connection, and fix it if necessary.
Oh, the "fix" is sometimes simply restarting the Hamachi service, but about 75% of the time Hamachi has to be reinstalled.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm thinking about becoming a service vendor for several franchisees of a major corporation. If I needed to set folks up on a VPN, I was thinking about how simple LogMeIn's products have been, and their product for VPN was called Hamachi.
Does anyone have any experience with it and can comment, good or bad?
