If you want to upgrade, change your HD to a SSD. This is the most noticeable change you can do.
Agreed. I have a i7 3770 from 2012 which still rocks. Much faster than the i7-7500 in my laptop I bought this year.
I use SSDs everywhere here, with a couple of spinning TB HDs for storage. Samsung SSDs are excellent.
I even have a SSD in my 30 year old Amiga 4000. mSATA with an IDE adapter.
