At that price, the book should be about 4 inches thick, wouldn't it? ($50 an inch).
Yep. Worth it, in its day. I was brought in to tech-edit a portion of the book, along with John Scobey, and then promoted to pinch-hit and rewrite a few chapters. The primary authors -- Lisa Slater (Nicholls) and Steven Arnott -- were top-notch, and I learned a lot, both about writing and FoxPro! "With" credits went to Nancy Jacobsen, Joseph Gotthelf and yours truly; introduction by Dr. David L. Fulton.
Book was over 1000 pages long, and there were matching DOS and Windows versions. Listed for $35.00 in 1993, which is ~$60 in 2017 USD. I suspect the price appreciation is a combination of the high quality of the product and the fact that if they ever sell one, they need to pay off 20 years of storage!
