I cannot let my users click everywhere! Freedom means extra debugging and hence workload.
Did you notice that those black rectangles around when using some web functions? They are trying to make your browser modal.:)

Modal is considered, by me, to be old-school and undesirable. People expect to have several forms open on their worksurface and interact between them. Just my opinion.
