Hi All
Sorry been out on site!
Running Opera on the main server itself is absolutely fine, it is only slow when running from the RDS server.
This is two physical machines, no VM's involved.
The servers are all of a much better spec than the ones that they replaced and yet Opera runs slower.
There is a second application which uses a database on the server and connects to it via Jet. This application is considerably faster than it used to be on the old kit.
The number of users on the RDS box is around 40 of which around 30 use Opera. The number of users hasn't changed from when the old kit was in use.
So the only real key difference it seems is the files are shared up on a Windows 2012 Server instead of a Windows 2003 Server.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
Regards
Chris.

Chris, Is the server running VM's or is it simply running as a stand alone machine. Our server is running 4 VM's at present with one dedicated to our VFP/SQL 2012 application with no problems. As Alan has said, is the problem still there running the app on the server and is the RDS box suffering from the same slowness?

Hi All
I have read through previous posts on this subject, but the more I read the more confused I get as to what advice I should be following.
We have a situation where speed issues are affecting a VFP application. The data is held on a Server 2012 server. Previously we have be told to disable SMB2 etc, but it seems now that this shouldn't be an issue.
I have now found mentions of a SMB2 registry setting along the lines of the OPLOCKS thing years ago. This setting is DisableLeasing, has anyone else faced similar issues and/or used this DisableLeasing option to improve application performance?
Thanks
Chris.
