If it is a new install of Windows 10, the .NET Framework that is installed by default is 4. In the control panel, where you would remove an installed program, the is an option to add or remove features. This will enable you to add the .NET Framework 3.x, which also installed the version your program needs.

I am trying to install some backup software for a friend. The app I have used in the past is SyncToy which is very good at mirroring folders to a backup location however for some reason it won't install on his machine. It demands Net Framework version 2.61 (I think) but his PC has Net Framework version 4. I've heard that SyncToy can be a bit temperamental :-) My question is - can anyone recommend something as easy to use as SyncToy for someone who is a novice? I've looked at EaseUS ToDo but that stores the backup files as compressed files rather than in their native format like SyncToy.
Thanks
