I don't think speed is a big deal for this task...having it complete the PDF in 5 seconds is not going to be a deal killer. Imagine the clock striking X o'clock firing off the PDF reports that are supposed to be generated at that hour. Not a big deal if they complete at X:01, or even X:04 for that matter. (Now X:06 is out of the question. lol)
I had initially thought this would be a cool dashboard app but the client wants their management and remote users to receive these reports either in their email or available historically via the My Reports link.
I recently did a Document Management System (DMS) for them that works GREAT using DebEnu's QuickPDF tool to parse existing PDFs on demand and generate new files from them so they can pick and choose what to email recipients (customers).
