I'm doing family tech support, and a couple of the folks have SLLOOOOWWW internet connections (like 1 Mbps) and Windows updates are killing them. I'm going to try the "metered" trick that Woody suggests in the article. "Feature Updates" are entirely new versions of Windows that are 1 Gb or more in size and try to install right on top of old and sometimes corrupt Windows and cause all sorts of problems.
