This is business not family. Having developers expand their capabilities and leverage the web in the 2000s was the desire. .NET was the vehicle by m$ vs java and php. Today it is all javascript, html5 and uber cool frameworks to get it done today.
POS systems don't usuaslly require web access, especially for small shops. Standalone applicaiton still has its place in this time-space continuum.
Anyway, we need a miracle... :)
