I have a small laptop with Windows 7 that I would like to upgrade to Windows 10. The machine has the Get Windows 10 icon in the system tray.

1. The free upgrade offer to end on 29 July 2016. I think that little advertising cue should disappear auto-magically after that day.
2. Do you want the upgrade? Do you wanna claim it first?
3. If you really wanna claim the upgrade (under the name digital entitlement), find a spare hard disk to CLEAN install Win 10 into it. The digital entitlement is tied to the product key of a qualifying OS. So the product key to enter during the CLEAN install would be the product key of your current Windows 7.
