Odd build error when trying to create automation COM component; references drive/folder I don't have in Project Info/Servers tab

Win7Pro 64-bit/VFP9SP2, building WestWind WebConnection Server file. Demo: https://www.screencast.com/t/Hz1rMjyo Building this EXE but it fails with error. Well, it still produces an EXE but it's like 10 KB (instead of its normal 5 MB) and of course doesn't work. The build complains of 3 missing XFRX graphics files but that's definitely not it. Seems to fail when it goes to register the Type Library and COM component. Typically, these reside in C:\AppFolder on the Testing/Production servers but I'm building them in E:\MyDev\MyClient\YadaYadaYada folder because that's where I took the source from the GitHub repository to edit and build it. I'm in Admin account, started VFP as Admin, so shouldn't be permissions issue. **Found this clue and I'm certain this is the problem: https://www.screencast.com/t/Y10rsIjO . For some reason, this says D:\WSAPPS\.... and I don't have that folder. My fellow developer uses that tree structure with his dev machine but I don't. My D: drive is my CD drive. I develop on my E: drive. How do I get that value changed? Odd Error Message

Hello: I got an interesting error message today. It was another example of an error message indicating that an error had occurred with the message not terribly useful for determining the actual error. Try the following use sometable copy to nothere\nothere\sometable copy to nothere\nothere\somecopy type xl5 where sometable is some table and nothere\nothere is a non-existent subdirectory chain. The error message for the first copy command is "Invalid path or filename." This is sensible. The error message for the second copy command is "OLE error code 0x80030003: Unknown COM status code." Huh? Copying to a directory that does not exist results in an error. You even get a choice of error messages. Sincerely, Gene Wirchenko

Mobile App

Hi All, Need some advice on the way forward. I have been developing apps in Vfp6 & 9 for quite some time with a lot of help from you all. Last year I redid an application using Winforms and Azure Sql database. Now I want to develop a mobile app to view reports from the Azure Sql database Mobile App will have say a login screen then an option to select a report a date option will be there and say a submit button The report must display. No data entry in the phone as of now. Which way should I look? I am looking at Xamarin since I have Visual Studio. If anyone knows any better options please advice. [NF] Weird Android Flash/Flashlight

I am using Galaxy S7 with Oreo Flash/Flashlight often won't come on. They always work on SafeMode Usually, work at first after coming out of SafeMode. Cleaning Cache also restores them I am looking for a minimalist way of finding the offending app -- don't want to do a factory restore and then one by one add apps. [NF] X# Bandol RC2 released

Hi VFPers, Last night RC2 was released to paid members of X#. The VFP support is coming nicely together. https://xsharp.info XSharp Bandol RC2. This release contains the DBFCDX driver and a partially implemented DBFVFP driver (reading of the new FoxPro types should work). The compiler also has support for FoxPro date and datetime literals and some other FoxPro related things, Full FoxPro (language) support will be included in the next build Hope this is of interest. Grid and DynamicForeColor

Hi all I have a grid on which I have set DynamicForeColor and all works fine EXCEPT that the cell in the grid which has current focus does not respect the DynamicForeColor setting. I have SetAll("SelectOnEntry",.F.) but that makes no difference. Any ideas how to fix this? Many thanks Paul Newton
