VFP and Camera capture

Hello, Has anyone written any VFP app that allows us to use a tablet or notebook running Windows OS take photo with the built in camera and control where you save and how you name the image file? Or possibly using West-Wind's wwdotnetbridge.dll to use some .NET class library's ? Thanks Philip B. Vicksburg, MI

Getting large amounts of data in and out from the LLM and breaking things down into smaller chunks is what I continue to struggle with most. I haven't used Projects, but I do use a combination of Claude.ai on the web and Claude code. Claude code has the advantage of knowing about your entire project. Sometimes that can also be a hindrance, though! Here's what I've done while trying to document and get a migration plan for the Visual FoxPro application I've been working with. First, I ran bin2prg on all the binary files, so I have text versions that Claude can understand. Next, I removed everything except the text representations, keeping the folder structure intact. Then I asked Claude to generate a summary of the project and save it in a Markdown file. I've also been going through each file and asking Claude to provide a detailed analysis of each one, saving it in markdown format with the same name as the text representation but with a .md extension. I've been experimenting with having Claude generate different design documents and save those into Markdown as well. This provides summaries that are easier to understand than the XML format in the original files, and it yields files that I can return to Claude for future prompts. I am still very much a novice with all the AI stuff, but I do feel like I am slowly getting somewhere. I should also note that I have upgraded to the $100 per month Max plan, and it still switches away from the version 4 model relatively quickly each day. Happy 4th! Win11 Deadline & FoxPro Apps!

So, here at work - my IT guy let us know there is this big Looming Deadline by Micro$oft - to kill off a bunch of older applications. Including older Windows servers, and other older Windows apps - including Win10. And, now it's become a little bit of a Scramble. Even just upgrading my work PC from 10 to 11 was a bit of a nightmare the past few days - taking most of Fri. & Today to try and solve issues that were causing the Upgrade to Fail. I would NOT be exaggerating to say that I had to try the install somewhere between 7 - 10 times in the past 2 days before we got success. It was very frustrating to say the least. And, now others on the IT team here are also going to be going thru the process of upgrading. Of course, we are upgrading 1st before the whole co. - as we need to find out where some problems reside. For instance, we do email transmissions as part of our database system applications. Most of the emails are transmitted internally. A lot of the emails are done via Office Automation. However, that requires Outlook being installed on a PC. That being said, there are a number of computers in the production facility that have this kind of TimeClock app on it - which is used to track production of parts - and allows the folks working on the parts to submit their hours into the system. As such, many different people would use a single computer. So, in fact - no One person actually logs into the PC with the Timeclock. As such, the Timeclock machines do NOT have Outlook. So, for the Timeclock application we used VFPWinSock to transmit emails instead of office automation. Now, with the conversion to Win11 - it seems the VFPWinSock application code is throwing an error. And, we may need to find another method for sending emails. I'm sure other folks here in the forum, that have older VFP apps - and are running on Win10 machines that soon need to switch to Win11 - especially in regards to businesses. As such, I wanted to start this thread - not only for input on our own issue w/Emails & VFPWinSock. But, I'd also like to know the experiences of others here - in regards to Switching from Win10 to Win11 - and find out if there are other Gotchas out there that I should be made aware of! I'm investigating whether a) I can relay mail from leafe.com <http://leafe.com/> through gmail, and b) whether that will make a difference for ProFox email, which has a tendency to be rejected because it's not coming from a big company. [NF] Thoughts on AI

The problems over the last couple of days with restoring the messages that were missing weren't as simple as I imagined they would have been to solve. Getting the messages was straightforward enough (thanks to everyone who helped!), but getting them into the database was more involved than I imagined. The difficulty was the result of one post by a certain member who shall remain nameless (hint: his initials are RK!). ...and, of course, FoxPro! I'm curious to know if others here are using Claude AI, and if so, are you using Projects? I know some folks DID already mention that they have been using Claude. In my case - been using it for like about 2.5 months. But, all during that time - I never tried this Projects stuff. Didn't really know for sure what it was all about. Figured maybe it could Also help me, make things more efficient - when dealing with FoxPro code & doing conversions. As such, today I went into the Projects area - and, I did some prompts - to learn more about Projects. I am going to include my prompts here - but, NOT the answers. To keep this posting shorter. But, for those using Claude but never tried out Projects - now you can learn more about it - by entering my prompts into Claude - if you so desire... This was my 1st prompt: Good morning Claude. Issues with codemine.flll and msvcrt.dll

Greetings everyone! I am working on getting an app running that uses CodeMine. I don't know a great deal about it or Codemine in general, so I'm trying to get things working in a sandbox. I can compile an exe and have it run with only minor issues. I am trying to run this app through the Visual FoxPro IDE so I can step through the debugger to troubleshoot some errors that were already present on the client's machine. When I try to "do source\appmain.prg" I get an error saying "The files codemine.fll and msvcrt.dll must be placed in the application directory or in your Windows system directory. I do have a copy of codemine.fll in the folder of the project. I am thinking maybe I need to copy msvcrt.dll into the root of the project as well but I am not sure where to get this file, or if that is definitely what needs to be done. Anybody run into this before? I apologize if I've asked something like this in the last few months or years. I keep picking up this project and shelving it, but I've tried to make good notes so I'm not running into the same issues over and over. Hi Jeff, I have found a Codemine version 6.1 in my ProLib Archives. Yes, it has a "common50" folder, files are seemingly from 2000-02-09 The Codemine.fll is dated from 1999-08-05 with 24576 Bytes I can load that FLL in a VFP9 commandwindow just fine with SET LIBR TO. (running on Win11). The only dependency I know is the MSVCRT.DLL.
