trouble with pdf listener

I need to print an invoice as a pdf file. I have a template with the company name, address,telephone number etc. All these items and several others are preprinted in this template. The template is a very common VFP report In different textboxes data from a table are obtained, such as client name, address,invoice number,date, item code, quantity, unit price and extended price plus other boxes for invoice subtotal, taxes and totals. Using a report listener I generate a pdf file, but only the preprinted items are shown in the pdf and none of the data from the textboxes appear. Could any of you please furnish me with a simple example on how to generate a pdf file as described, using data extracted from a table? Lister program for VFP code

I would benefit from a lister program that would document the date and time of the printing as well as handle consistent indentation and bolding of functions and procedures as well as many other things I haven't mentioned or thought of. Can someone recommend something done in VFP that I can tweak to my preferences? Combobox dropdown issue resolution

I have a form with four combo boxes providing parameters to a procedure that determines potential storage spots and populates a fifth combo with the list. When the fifth combo is populated a keyboard statement triggers a dropdown to allow a choice. My problem has been that the calling combo loses its display when the keyboard line is executed. What follows is Co-pilots write up. Workaround for ComboBox Dropdown Issue *Problem:* The ComboBox dropdown causes the calling ComboBox to lose its display. *Initial Approach:* - Tried to refresh the form right after the keyboard statement, but this prevented the dropdown from working. - Writing debugging messages right after the dropdown also caused problems. *Solution:* - Call the form refresh in the dropdown event of the ComboBox. - This allows the dropdown to happen and keeps the calling combo display active. Nested EVALUATE()s in VFP SQL - it can be done...

Well, here's part trivia, part navel gazing, part bragging...but you can do nested EVALUATE()s in a field expression within VFP SQL. And it can make sense. I was converting some old procedural code in VFP 7 to a SQL call where there were multiple conditions for a person's age at a given event. The prior code checked if the age was less than zero, make it zero (data entry errors, not real life), if the person was 100 or over, use 99, if there's no birthdate, indicate Unknown, otherwise calculate age. There was a recent ProFox thread about dealing with either MAX() or MIN() within SQL - it doesn't work. Well, the SQL MAX function works in VFP SQL but not the VFP MAX function. I had a tip to the FPA a long time ago that if you use the EVALUATE() function in VFP SQL, it would run the VFP MAX() function and not the VFP SQL MAX() function and that was your workaround. So with that I put this together for the calculation as a field expression IIF(NOT EMPTY(<birth_date>), ; PADL(EVALUATE("MAX(INT(EVALUATE([MIN(((<event_date> - <birth_date>) / 365.25), 99)])), 0)"), 2, [0]), [UK]) AS cAge ...where <> represents the appropriate date field in a table. Outlook Automation Help Needed

Ok, before I ask my question, I want to confirm that I've looked at the Microsoft Office Automation with Visual FoxPro book, searched for Outlook related messages on this list and spent more than I wanted to on the Internet and still haven't found a solution that I can use or modify to accomplish my goal. So, it's up to ProFox now. Here's what I need to do: I have a system with Outlook 2010 running on it. I need to access the individual emails stored in multiple pst files with multiple sub-folders and extract the unique email addresses found on those emails. Ideally, I'd like to select the .PST file and have a program loop through all of the folders/subfolders, touch each email and extract any email addresses that contain a search string. I can get an Outlook object active in VFP, but things get muddy after that. Any ideas? Or is this even doable? I feel like the Fox is capable, but at the moment I'm not. J Paul H. [ADMIN] Google blocking ProFox posts to gmail addresses

I've just gotten notification that many of your accounts on my server were disabled due to excessive bounces, and all of those bounce notices were from gmail addresses. I dug a little deeper, and it seems Google changed the auth requirements for sending email to any gmail.com <http://gmail.com/> account. I don't have time right now to spend on this, but I will try to update things soon. And yes, I know that the people who are affected won't be able to receive this post, but maybe they'll be curious and check the archives. -- Ed Leafe

Combo followup

Thanks Ted for the input. I ended up putting together some runnable code to compare what happens in different scenarios and have attached it if anyone is interested. I think the behavior when the Quotes are included in the RowSource of the Combo is probably a bug. What bothers me is that it seems to come and go, probably tied to some unknown condition in Foxpro. All the code does is display three different Combo boxes. When you click for the dropdowns the list of options show up. To the right are boxes showing the type and value of the choice just clicked. Combo RowSourceType 1

I have figured out that a combo displaying a numeric value will misbehave if the RowSource is not numeric. When I use RowSource = 0.1,0.5,1,2,3 on a form the code runs and the combo behaves. If I use RowSource = "0.1,0.5,1,2,3" the code runs but the combo gets the quotes mixed in with the first and last choices. When I try to define a class RowSource = 0.1,0.5,1,2,3 generates an Unrecognized command verb error. If I use RowSource = "0.1,0.5,1,2,3" the code runs but the combo misbehaves. I am aware of several work arounds: use a cursor, use an array, or initialize the RowSource in a method called from Init. I don't like any of them because they swell the code and make it difficult to follow. Does anyone care to share some wisdom?
