Hello everyone,
I live close to the French Broad river which created some 20 feet above
normal. The damage is significant in the area.
In a way, I'm glad I was here taking care of things instead of in Arizona at
the conference. My sweetheart Elizabeth was in Georgia for the weekend. She
only got a little rain where she was. She came home the Monday after to the
aftermath.
A tree clipped my house and smashed the heat-pump.
Elizabeth's house is fine and she has running water with a boil advisory.
When I left this morning, she still doesn't have power.
Cellular services are spotty in the area, the roads are clear. Most people
have electricity again. It might be another 2 weeks before water is fully
restored in the area.
The office has power and internet and I'm finally able to really be online
again. There are buckets of potable and non-potable water here for our
needs.
Give thanks to the beneficial weather we get, even 20 inches in 12 hours of
rain has benefits.
Give thanks to those that provide food for the masses.
Stay safe everyone!
Tracy
