looking for a multi-user alternative (to MS Exchange) to view gmail emails For more than 10 years I have been using a gmail account for users to send support questions. I had that gmail account linked (somehow) to MS Exchange hosted by Rackspace. This was recommended by someone on this list. It has been working for >10 years and I have long-since forgotten how I set all that stuff up. Now Rackspace no longer supports Exchange 2007 and the Outlook 2007 client that we use to access exchange and see the emails that came into gmail. Hope that makes sense. I think it should be simple to have imap and/or POP in the gmail account activated (which it/they is/areprofox(a)leafe.com) It seems like Exchange should be able to 'poll' the gmail server and download the email (hope that makes sense). Somehow the people at Rackspace don't know what I am talking about?? the support person today says I need to set up MX records in gmail so gmail will send to exchange? that does not make any sense to me. I admit that I may not be the youngest person on this list, but I am still alive and I love VFP and most of the support issues. Anyone out there know what I am missing? [NF] Windows 10 Home networking and Explorer

Hi all I am afraid that I have been rather quiet since being made redundant at the end of February but I am now having a problem with "Network" in File Explorer. This is the setup: Virgin Hub 3 connected via cable to DesktopPC, Laptop, US robotics Mini NAS adapter and Netgear Powerline adapter I have an external drive (STORAGE-0001) connected via USB to the NAS adapter. On both the desktop and the laptop Network in File Explorer shows Media Devices(1) Sorage-0001 which when opened shows the NAS manager in a browser window/tab Network Infrastructure (1) ARRIS TG2492LG-85 Router which when opened shows the Hub 3 settings in a browser window/tab On the Desktop, Network in File Manager shows Computers (3) DesktopPC Laptop Storage-001 (which when opened shows the shared Public folder on the external drive) However, on the Laptop, Network in File Manager shows Computers (1) which is the laptop itself and when opened shows its shared folder(s). DesktopPC and Storage-0001 are not shown but can be opened by typing their network names (\\ DesktopPC and \\Storage-0001 <file://Storage-0001> ) into the Explorer address bar. After searching and trying all manner of suggestions I am still unable to resolve the issue (I am not even sure whether changes are required on the laptop or the desktop or both). I can provide further information if needed. Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated. "Eric Rapaport" at Microsoft

In my current security role I get all the strange emails forwarded to me, and this one I got today took the cake because it didn't really seem to have a purpose. It was from an "Eric Rapaport", former CIA. It listed off all his credentials, which were many. But there was no ask to the email at all. Very weird. A quick Google shows this guy has been spamming for years. This result in particular <https://blog.dynamoo.com/2007/05/eric-rapaport-spam.html> is interesting because he claims to have been one of the authors of Visual FoxPro 3.0 while he worked at Microsoft. Anyone ever heard of this guy? Get spammed by this guy? What's your take? Mike, Yes, I use them at work (I am the IT Director) and I have about 55 mailboxes. I dealt with Ryan and he is very responsive. I haven't had a single issue since I switched over 6 months ago. Data transfer design Data transfer design (VFP to Google Sheets)

I have VFP code that combines multiple events recorded on a phone app into a single Timeline table. The final step in the code is to copy to type XL5. Each time the code is run to include new data, the output file is written with the same name I opened the resulting file in Google sheets with the data in the first tab called DATA. Subsequent tabs query the DATA tab to produce charts with various combinations of events for various time frames. The charts can be exported as PDFs for external use. My issue is figuring out the best way to update the data in the Sheets file as new data is available. Here are some considerations and ideas: · Each time I upload the data file to Google Drive the same filename is assigned to a different file (all with the same name.) The only way I have found to determine which is the authority is to look at the last modified time. This seems like an invitation to user errors. Perhaps there is a configuration change to avoid this behavior. · Sheets has the capability to query data from an unopened table if its URL is specified in the query. Wiping and reimporting the data appears to be a workable approach but it requires finding the correct file to import to the DATA sheet with the specified URL used to hold the data, · Another possibility might be to open the table from VFP in Sheets and record the URL on the clipboard and then open the Sheets file containing the chart specs and update the URL in the query. · Another might be to copy the data to the clipboard and then paste it into a DATA tab on the Charts sheet. · Finally, I’m wondering if there is a way to write the data onto the clipboard from VFP and then paste it directly into the Sheets Chart sheet. This would eliminate the nuisance of uploads and filename confusion. · A pure VFP approach would eliminate the need for data transfer, but I chose the Google approach because I am new to charts and because I wanted to learn about Google’s capabilities.
