looking for a multi-user alternative (to MS Exchange) to view gmail emails For more than 10 years I have been using a gmail account for users to send support questions. I had that gmail account linked (somehow) to MS Exchange hosted by Rackspace. This was recommended by someone on this list. It has been working for >10 years and I have long-since forgotten how I set all that stuff up. Now Rackspace no longer supports Exchange 2007 and the Outlook 2007 client that we use to access exchange and see the emails that came into gmail. Hope that makes sense. I think it should be simple to have imap and/or POP in the gmail account activated (which it/they is/areprofox(a)leafe.com) It seems like Exchange should be able to 'poll' the gmail server and download the email (hope that makes sense). Somehow the people at Rackspace don't know what I am talking about?? the support person today says I need to set up MX records in gmail so gmail will send to exchange? that does not make any sense to me. I admit that I may not be the youngest person on this list, but I am still alive and I love VFP and most of the support issues. Anyone out there know what I am missing? [NF] - Is Bigger Always Better When It Comes To Your Monitors? :)

I've been using dual monitors for many years now, but I've been working with monitors with two different layouts. Both monitors were 22" wide but the primary monitor was more square format whereas my secondary monitor has more of a wide screen format. Apparently, after I started talking about upgrading my gear, the main monitor heard me, got mad and decided to give up the ghost yesterday. Fortunately, I had a used 27" monitor on hand which I stuck in place temporarily and the size and brightness and contrast have been a huge improvement. In fact, this used monitor is making my secondary monitor look like crap. So, my question is this: What size monitors are you using for development and how many? The new computer I've purchased has 2 Display Ports, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA. So I'm considering getting two matching monitors which support Display Ports. Any comments, thoughts or suggestions about Display Ports? Thanks in advance! Paul H. Outlook Office 365

Has anyone had any issues when trying to load up Outlook 365 using Automation? Software that has worked for years even recently on Office 365 has randomly stopped working and I have no idea why. [NF] Winforms

Hi all Are there any VB.NET Winforms gurus around. I am struggling with custom controls in Winforms. So when I start a new project in Visfox I create custom VCXs for the different forms and form controls. I then use these custom controls throughout the project. I can create an inherited form with the layout I need but when I use this form in the project all the base controls are locked which I think is something to do with "Friend" but I don't understand. In Visfox I create a VCX for controls (e.g. textbox, label, combobox etc ) and inherit from the windows controls. Customisation of these controls is visual so click on the properties and change the font size etc. In Winforms there doesn't seem to be any visual element to this I have to write all the code for it. Grid column text alignment shifts on first focus

I have a grid in my application that allows users to edit some columns. (Most of my grids don't allowCellSelection) There is 15 columns, the first two do not allow editing, the rest do. The 2nd column alignment appears as top left until it is clicked in at which time it aligns middle left like the other read only column. The other 13 columns are numeric and are all aligned middle right. The first 3 columns are locked. (lockcolumns = 3) I have set the alignment to middle left on the column and the textbox, yet it still wants to first appear top left. I have set this in the properties on the grid class and in the init event I also set them in the grid class. I have set this in the properties on the grid in the form and in the init event of the form. I have placed a button on the form that when clicked it sets these properties. I have used the Grid.ActivateCell(1,2) to try to trick the grid. I set the ReadOnly to false before I did. The When event returns a value on the form to prevent focus. It was allowing focus when I attempted the ActivateCell. The text in that column does not align correctly until a row in that column is clicked. I also notice a white line (highlight?) around the inside of the cell when the cell is clicked. Once focus moves from that cell the highlight goes away. Has anyone seen this and discovered the trouble behind it? Thank you, Tracy

OK, I realize this is a rather [NF] but list traffic is low, its summer ... and well, I'm looking for a comfortable "developer" seat cushion and appreciate the wisdom of this crowd. I know, I'm a bit embarrassed by the "developer" adjective, but trying to keep this thread somewhat on topic :) I'm looking at the ComfiLife Seat Cushion (Amazon, $35) but not excited about some of the reviews.
