ParallelFox - anyone using it in production?

I have a customer who runs a process which is essentially chugging through a huge DBF and doing some processing for each record. This is taking quite a while on their hardware, like hours. It struck me that this is an ideal application for parallelism. So I've knocked up a quick test that uses ParalleFox with each worker processing a chunk of the DBF file. It seems to work fine. SourceSafe from within Foxpro

I wonder if anyone can help please with what may be a simple problem. I'm trying to use VSS (Visual SourceSafe) with VFP (Visual Foxpro) on my Windows 10 PC with a local VSS database on my D drive, i.e. not on a network drive. I have done this many times the past and it is an excellent way to keep track of changes between versions. This works fine on a PC at the location of a client who I support, which runs XP. Also, on my own Windows 10 PC, VSS works perfectly from the VSS application, but when I try to access it from VFP I get "database XXX does not exist". I've tried creating a new database but to no avail. The srcsafe.ini file is in the VSS folder, so I can't understand what might be the problem. Could it be an issue with Windows 10? Any pointers would be hugely appreciated! Martin

Can anyone help with this ??? I use the example readxlsxfile.prg and check the generated debugexcelread file and everything is correct. i.e. all the values and all the rows ... I then replicate this code in my application and then any string value that's return always returns the first value from Row 1 Col 1. Opinions on Servers

Hi All Just a general question ... If you was choosing a server which would run a vfp application using standard dbfs as fast as possible for around 30 users (connected via remote desktop). What server would you choose to get the best performance? Is it CPU's , Hard Drive Configuration, Memory etc ... we can assume that there is sufficient memory for the remote desktop side of things. Problem with APPEND FROM <Filename> TYPE DELIMITED

Hi all I have a CSV file (MyFile.CSV) with a single line that looks like this: FIN005,,06/11/2020,06/11/2020,06/11/2020,T116434,C,,,,,,,N,,,,,,,8300,,-15,,-3,,,H,S,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LEITH You can verify for yourselves that LEITH is the 58th column. I have a table (MyTable.DBF) with 66 fields and Field(58) returns SA_JOB The following fails to populate SA_JOB Select MyTable APPEND FROM MyFile.CSV TYPE DELIMITED All the other columns are correct in the table. I am completely stumped so any help would be much appreciated. Paul Newton

Hi all The problem was that one of the preceding fields was a memo field, so CSV column 58 was ending up in table field 59 (which happened to be a logical field so could not accept "LEITH". Hi Martin, wow. Somebody stil uses the real VSS? Dude... Why not at least use VAULT from SourceGear.com? It's free for SingleUsers, and replaces VSS perfectly. It also integrates the very same in VFP. They even had some conversion / import tools for VSS, if I remember correctly. wOOdy

[NF] Missing codec - This item was encoded in a format that's not supported

Hi all I have a number of AVIs which I recorded for training purposes a long time ago (probably when running Windows 7). Now, when I try to play these AVIs I get the message as in the subject. Now running Windows 10 (2004). Any ideas where/how I can install a codec which will enable them to play? Many thanks. Need way to change user to access protected folder
