Google API for Geocoding ... Again

Fellow Gentlemen, I posted a request about doing geocoding requests to receive back a Lat/Long dataset for various addresses a few weeks ago and now find that Google do in fact provide a Geocoding service: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/start The responses back from the requests are all JSON from a Java Script API run by Google. I have looked over Rick's Westwind site to try and get a start on using this method to get back a JSON response but seem to be getting nowhere fast. Anyone got any ideas on a simple & neat way of retrieving this data back using VFP programmatically? Either that or anyone know a free Geocoding site that would handle up to 100 name and address calls per day ideally by sending a text file and receiving one back which could be automated from the VFP end. Never even looked at Web services in anger before so it all seems a little baffling and terribly long winded at the moment unless I am missing something obvious. Note I don't want to have to drop into an intermediate program/language to accomplish this, if possible. Dave

Something is seriously wrong at MSFT. https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-10/189344/windows-10-version-1809-… The re-release of the "Feature Update 1809" i.e., the new version of windows for September '18, hence 1809, is deleting user's data, again. I strongly recommend you turn off Updates as best you can. I've set all our machines here to "Metered" connections and set "Feature" updates to a 365 day delay and Security updates to a 30 day delay. I think Windows has gotten too complex for MS to understand. OT: IBM to buy RedHat

I suppose it could be worse: it could have been Computer Associates. Or Oracle, or HP or *shudder* Microsoft.. Reactions over the weekend have mostly been dread from the employees, who of course, can't be sure what happens next. This was, reportedly, the largest software acquisition ever, at $34 Billion dollars. [NF] Tool for editing multiple files for huge search/replace operation

Literally about 10 years ago, I'm pretty sure this list suggested a tool that I used to update several text files in a common folder; it was a big "replace text 123 with 456" kind of thing. But alas, my memory is failing me and I can't recall what the tool was called. Anybody know of such a tool to handle large search/replace across several text files in a same folder or even perhaps cascading tree of folders? tia, --Mike

.h files included or excluded in your project?

VFP9SP2 Since .h #INCLUDE files are only utilized at build time, is there any reason you'd want to include the .h files in the EXE? I'm thinking "no."
