Google API for Geocoding ... Again

Fellow Gentlemen, I posted a request about doing geocoding requests to receive back a Lat/Long dataset for various addresses a few weeks ago and now find that Google do in fact provide a Geocoding service: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/start The responses back from the requests are all JSON from a Java Script API run by Google. I have looked over Rick's Westwind site to try and get a start on using this method to get back a JSON response but seem to be getting nowhere fast. Anyone got any ideas on a simple & neat way of retrieving this data back using VFP programmatically? Either that or anyone know a free Geocoding site that would handle up to 100 name and address calls per day ideally by sending a text file and receiving one back which could be automated from the VFP end. Never even looked at Web services in anger before so it all seems a little baffling and terribly long winded at the moment unless I am missing something obvious. Note I don't want to have to drop into an intermediate program/language to accomplish this, if possible. Dave

[NF] Customer asking for (preferably free) unattended remote access software so she can access her work machine from home

Customer is a small business and NOT tech savvy at all (so don't suggest "UltraVNC configured oh so cool!"). I warned her you get what you pay for many times, but said I'd research it. I use TeamViewer and it's great for me but overkill for her. TV has a free license but the wording appears to be such that it's for accessing your personal home computer from work (not the other direction). LogMeIn (as we've noted here) kept jacking up prices, and they have no more free version. I've got a question into gotomypc.com to see if unattended access is an option for their product (although it's not free either). I have no problem telling a client that free isn't possible but I did say I'd check first. There was an interesting talk on the BBC yesterday on the recent internet ransom attacks. I didn't hear the talk myself but a friend told me about it. One of the interviewees was from Europol's European Cybercrime Centre and he recommended their website https://www.nomoreransom.org/about-the-project.html which has decryption tools for a number of recent viruses. SQL duplicate key value error message

Greetings all - it's been a long time... It doesn't help that I'm pretty rusty at this sort of thing and I'm sure the answer is obvious, but I am struggling with this INSERT query this morning. I want to populate a lookup table with all the distinct values from a column in a different table. Here's the INSERT query: INSERT INTO [dbo].[FMDFPRI] ([SPri] ,[descr] ,[created] ,[edited]) select p.priority as Spri ,p.priority as descr ,'20161201092101946CSS01 ' as created ,'20161201092101946CSS02 ' as edited from FMDFSRQ p where p.priority <> '' and p.priority not in (select Spri from fmdfpri) GO I get this error message: Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'FmSPriKey'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.FMDFPRI'. The duplicate key value is (2 ). Create PDF from FoxPro report with selectable text...

I'm printing a FoxPro FRX to a PDF file using Adobe PDF printer driver from Adobe Acrobat (VFP9 SP2, Windows 10). Printing to the PDF works fine, but the text inside the generated PDF is not selectable text. It seems more like a rendered raster image. My customers are complaining because they want to be able to select text out of the PDF for copy-and-paste operations with other apps on their side. I've also tried the Ghostscript drivers, and the results are the same. Since this could technically apply to any programming language, I'll tag it as [NF], but Foxpro was the inspiration for the question. This past weekend, I was working on a significant refactoring of an existing application and I found myself in that never-ending land of try and re-try until all of the dumb, crash causing bugs were out of the way and I could get on with working on logic issues and other more important thoughts. There are a lot of different "bugs" that get in the way of programming success many of which I experience on a regular basis. So, I thought it might be fun and interesting to try to find out what programmers think their biggest sources of bugs are. Below is my short list of bug sources in no particular order. Rank them in the order of the pain they cause you from most to least: Typos Bad Variable References Bad Object References Logic Errors Unexpected Data Variations Incorrect Data Types Local vs Public Variables Cut n Paste Code Unexpected User Actions PS: if you can think of more sources of bug pain, please add them as required. Textbox in grid column.... When is cursor updated?

Textbox in grid column question.... When is the value entered in a textbox in a grid column applied to the underlying bound cursor relative to the firing of the grid.AfterRowColChange() when user hits tab to move to the next column? Here is the situation I am struggling to understand: When entering a new value in a column and then hitting tab to go to the next column, it appears that the value from the textbox which you are exiting is not applied to the cursor yet at the time AfterRowColChange() fires. I have some calculation logic on AfterRowColChange() and the old value is what I am seeing. As a hack, I have gone this route, but I hate it: In order to get the value from the textbox in the cursor soon enough to be seen by the AfterRowColChange() method code, I have put explicit code in the textbox.Valid() to say “Replace {field} with This.Value in {lcCursor}” and then the cursor is updated so that when AfterRowColChange() is called, it will see the new value in the row for that field. Email with CDO error

I am trying to send emails from VFP using CDO. This is a system that needs to send pdf images of invoices to 400+ customers.
