This is the open "PC clone" environment, where many, many combinations of issues are possible and cannot all be tested. This is the primary reason why the forced/cumulative update approach cannot be used with Windows. People don't complain about having updates shoved down their throats for iPhones and such because it works there. It doesn't work here, and it can never work here. It's not because MS are a bunch of screw-ups; it's because the task is far more complex in this setting. I think they're in serious danger of completely trashing the good will and, for lack of a better term, "trust", that they've built up among most of their non-techie customers if they don't reverse this soon. Mopier mode printers and multiple collated copies

Since the beginning of the month we have been getting phone calls from customers with large copiers that are setup as network printers (or networked all -in-one business class printers). They are no longer able to print multiple copies to the copier using our old Crystal Reports 8.5. It appears each collated report is sent to the printer as a separate print job. Sometime, the printer will print 2 out of 10 copies. Many times, it only prints the 1st copy. If one does not collate, all the pages seem to print. I'm able to reproduce this behavior in house on the Dell B3465dnf Laser MFP. The only workaround we have been able to find, Save the report as a PDF (or print it to a PDF printer). Then preview the report in the PDF viewer and print it from there. I don't see this behavior in another product that is using the FoxyPreviewer. The product that uses Crystal Reports has over 200 reports, and some 20 of the are crosstab reports. A few of the are very complicated with multiple sub-reports. I do not see this being converted to VFP reports to run in FoxyPreviewer. More just getting this information out to others. But if someone has some useful thoughts, I'll happily listen. No doubt they understand these business users' mind set, and they figure if they can take this away from them, that might be the last thing keeping them from drinking the Windows 10 koolaid. I believe that WSUS will allow the "security" portions to somehow be separated from the rest of the junk in these omnibus packages, but it is not clear that each separate update will be defined and controllable even using that method.
