A Strange Excel Data Problem...

So - here at my day job my main task is to support this one team of users. And, they're job is the Most Time critical here in this co. As such, things must always be done in a timely manner - and support of them is critical in that they Can not have the system down at any point in time. Well - part of the system outputs an Excel file that must be sent to the clients. There is a problem that they have had over time. It's kind of intermittent. Although - yesterday it happened to Four of the users about the same time. So - they were kinda freakin' out. Problem is - they can't generally replicate the problem. So - if they can't give me instructions on how to re-create the problem, its Nearly impossible to try and fix the problem. Anyway - here's the issue. In a number of Cells in the spreadsheet - it contains the following as a value: #NUM! And - yeah - that's exactly what it looks like - and I just copied it right from the cell. Has anyone seen this kind of problem before??? Lastly - we are using VFP9 - and the Excel file is created using the COPY command. Also - did a Google search - and one hit was M$ and a help page - it claimed: Excel shows this error when a formula or function contains numeric values that aren't valid. But - of course, its Straight data being exported - NO Formulas! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Need GetFocus() for FP 2.6

Greetings, I have an old app with forms created using Define Window. Textboxes are created by @ Get. I know many of you will tell me to upgrade which I'm doing but I still need to support the existing app. Well, here is my question: What is be best way to mimic Setfocus() for a @ Get control? I'm adding validation outside of the valid() clause. Is this even possible without redefining the @Get along with the position? SQLStringConnect

Hi all I have something very strange happening here I have the following in code: nConnectionHandle = SQLStringConnect(cConnectionString) Assert .F. In the debugger Watch window nConnectionHandle shows with value 1 If I check SQLGetProp(1,"ConnectString") it shows expression cannot be evaluated If do another SQLStringConnect in the command window, nConnectionHandle still shows as 1 but now SQLGetProp(1,"ConnectString") shows the connection string I used. It _seems_ as if SQLStringConnect is returning 1 even though in fact a connection has not been established Any ideas would be very much appreciated as I have wasted a lot of time on this so far Many thanks Paul Newton

[NF] Win10 Free Upgrade Expiration???

So - I'm here on my laptop - and, as usual lately - as I boot up - I get the Dumb Ass Win10 Nag pop-up! As such - it Begs the question. When does it expire? At which point I have to Pay - which I would rather not. Although - am also curious as to how Good Win10 is. I know there has been a Lot of Shit talk about Win10. But, since Evil M$ decided to use the Whole World as Beta testers. I suspect that by now most of the Bugs have been worked out. So - what say you all? Go for it and Upgrade - or should I say F That and just stick with what I have (Win 8.1 on my laptop & Win7 Pro on my Desktop)! Hell - I stuck with WinXP for years on my old Desktop - and things Win2000 Pro for Quite some time - before finally upgrading. As such - I have no problem holding off on this Win10 stuff if its Not dependable. L8r, -K-

[NF] Web-based Database

I've said before that I am retired but occasionally dabble with databases to help local charities. I've been shown one, a database of talks given by speakers in the area. A blank Excel sheet is downloaded from a website for users to add records. The sheet is then emailed manually to a co-ordinator to be added to a master Excel sheet. A cut-down version is then uploaded to the website for users to read and request further information on selected talks. This is crying out to be automated but unfortunately my web design skills never got further than Front Page (don't laugh). I assume that it would involve MySQL on a web server. Can anyone recommend some software (preferably Open Source, charity = no money) and a suitable book that I could use to create a suitable website? Thanks John John Weller 01380 723235 07976 393631
